Third week

We are coming up to the end of the third week. This second session is going by so quickly it makes me actually sad. I have met such wonderful families and become so close to the parents and children here it breaks my heart to think that in two weeks I will no longer see them every morning. It's amazing to meet so many families that are either experiencing the same challenges or ones you have been thru and you are able to help. You become one be happy family here and always have someone to talk to so you know you aren't going thru this alone.
The children impress me every day Ryan is starting to practice with quad canes and though he fights I know that he can do i. Kayley is using quad canes all by herself and her legs are becoming straighter and she walks further and further each day with them. Kingston is an incredible little guy that was born three months early but is one of the brightess kids I have met so far. He walks with a walker indepently and is starting to side step. Hudson has grown so much since the last time I saw him he is walking all over the place. Leilani is another little girl that is doing hyperbaric she is a sweetie I wish we'd see more of her.
Cary and I have been doing alternate weeks and it's been hard to be away at work while Ryan is here with Cary :) but I'm managing. Cary called me last week to tell me that Ryan had purple gums and a fat lip when he woke up. I asked what from but he didn't know of anything. I return the following week and still he had bruising of the gums but Ryan wouldn't let me take a good look. Today at lunch time I was watching him chat and I realize one tooth is pushed in I was like OMG. I just hope it comes back into place. It isn't that noticable but now that I see it I notice it all the time. At least it is still there I guess.
I am away this coming week but will be returning to finish the last week with Ryan so I will keep you posted good night for now.

Last night I decided to give Ryan a Sage bath. What it consists of is you put a bunch of fresh sage into a stocking and soak it in hot water and squeeze it to defuse the sage into the water. You do this until the water turns almost like a tea colour. Next you add cooler water to make it a safe temp and you let them soak in it for 20 plus minutes. This sage bath is suppose to really help relax all their tense muscles making movements easier for them.
After the bath I creamed him all up and got him into his PJ's. I realized that I still hadn't put Ry's sheets on his bed from being freshly cleaned. So while I was trying to put the sheets on and get him ready for bed he took off out of the room and went to the common livingroom because everyone was in there. I went to go grab him and when I entered the room he did his bridge and than pushed into a stand all by himself in the middle of the livingroom. He held this position for about 5 secs than fell on his bottom. We were all so amazed since Ryan has never done anything like that before. Way to go Ry Guy!!!

I'm packing and getting ready to go home for the week. It's hard to belive that when I return it will be our final week here.
